da pinnacle: Chelsea have received a boost in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid’s Radamel Falcao after Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho ruled out a move for the striker due to a ‘pact of non aggression’ between the cross-city rivals.
da dobrowin: Real were one of the sides thought to be interested in the Colombian front man who is one of the most sought-after players in world football. However the former Blues manager has admitted that the agreement between the two rivals makes it impossible to recruit important players from each other.
He compared Falcao to Sergio Aguero explaining that they had an understanding that they would not poach their star players.
“Falcao is a fundamental player for our rivals, just like Kun Aguero was. There is a pact of non-aggression between Real Madrid and Atletico so I think Falcao is a forbidden fruit,” Mourinho is quoted as saying by goal.com
“He’s a fantastic player, and I get the feeling he is a lovely guy, and I’m very happy to see him do so well at Atletico.”
The revelation increases the chances of the prolific striker moving to the Premier League and only this week Roman Abramovich gave the green light for the Stamford Bridge club to recruit the striker in January.
However Chelsea could have competition for the striker with Manchester City and Roberto Mancini known to be also interested in bringing him to England although they City look for cheaper alternatives in the January transfer window given their precarious status with the UEFA Financial Fair play rules.
